VOICING AND TEXTING SCRIPTURE
About the Author
Yes, this is me! My name is Tarcisius, your host. Welcome to my website, Voicing and Texting Scripture — a forum where I discuss with you how we negotiate hearing and reading the Bible. I am a theologian who specialises in biblical hermeneutics, in particular, how the shift from an oral medium to a written medium has affected how we interpret the Bible. My mission in life, if I may be allowed to sound grandiose for a moment, is to contribute to biblical literacy — both for the believer and unbeliever. Whatever money I may raise through this forum will go towards research and dissemination of my findings. On this website, you will find some of the papers I have delivered, publications and discussions on biblical literacy. I hope you find something here to interest you. Let me know what you think of what you find here
This is my first publication and the inspiration behind my website. Here is what an anonymous peer reviewer said about my book when it was submitted for publication.
"The author has advanced the field of African biblical scholarship with this book, and has made a significant contribution to both African biblical scholarship and biblical scholarship more generally. Indeed, the calibre of research enables the book to speak to both audiences, those who are struggling in a day to day way as socially engaged biblical scholars on the African continent, and those within the field more widely who would not consider themselves practitioners, but who are interested in African biblical scholarship and how it relates to their work" (Anonymous Peer Reviewer of Spoken Voice/Written Word).
